Dr. Rehman was born in Malaysia, to a Pakistani father, and Chinese-origin Malaysian mother. After spending first few years of his life in Malaysia, his family moved to Pakistan. He went to attend King Edward Medical College in Lahore. Following footsteps of his father, He decided to move to England. He worked in a hospital in Manchester, UK. In 2003 he moved to United States. This decision led him to pursue residency training in internal medicine at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. From there on, he worked towards two year fellowship training in kidney diseases (nephrology) at University of Vermont. In 2008 he joined the faculty at Joan C Edwards School of Medicine at Marshal University as Assistant Professor. This position gave him an opportunity to teach medical studentsand residents. Moreover, he was actively involved in translational research work leading to publications in peer reviewed journals. His desire for continued growth, and love for cultural diversity then brought him to Washington Nephrology Associates in 2013. He has experience in treating all aspects of kidney diseases with special interest in difficult to control hypertension and chronic kidney disease. Dr. Rehman enjoys bike riding, hiking, reading books, and exploring food from different ethnic backgrounds. He lives in Springfield with his wife and two hands-on boys.
